Systema of a Lockdown #2

Three days of breath work

Last weekend gave me an opportunity to enjoy long, brisk walks, during which I worked on maintaining rhythm and awareness through episodes of pyramid breathing. A particular challenge was keeping up the pace while breathing through a mask that made my glasses fog up. I managed to reduce the fogging a bit by directing the flow of exhaled air with my mouth.

The third week of online classes began Monday with a midday session on breathing. The particular emphasis of the class on the principle of independence, which means that movement should not be tied to a particular phase of or instant within the breathing rhythm.
